Key points of email update from Sistren Dr. Desta Meghoo-Peddie, J.D. in Shashamane.

I. Received a note from Mama Baby I and Mama Yvi, chair and co-chair respectively, to state the approval of the final bid of 5,000 USD to make the Dawta's Quarters habitable. This is the amount being sought. Kindly post and also note the names of the Chair and Co-Chair so we are open and transparent as to who is responsibe for what.

II. InI have also reviewed the cost of operating the Nyahbinghi Tabernacle Center which includes utilities (phone, light, water), staff (security, grounds, support staff), food, Fire Key wood, and all needed to run the House properly. The budget is 2500 Ethiopian Birr per month (300 USD). The Nyahbinghi Center currently serves as:

1) Accommodation - The Lions Quarters consists of four bedrooms, one office, one kitchen, one hall and one bath. Two bedrooms are occupied by Congo Rock I and one by Congo Rupert. Two are always available for those passing through and have 6 double beds to accommodate InI.
2) Ises - Every Saturday Ises is held and all Rastafari significant days of groundation
3) Charity - Food, clothes, shoes, school supplies etc given to the any member of the community who comes seeking.
4) Education - Everyday visitors from the local community and around the world visit the Nyahbinghi, saying they want to see the "Rasta Church".

III. Congo Rock I gives a very powerful presentation beginning with slavery to where we are today emphasizing our Jah and King His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I. It is Congo Rock I position that InI are to spread the word of Rastafari without partiality. His presentation also includes photos of great patriarchs such as Brother Planno, Bongo Watto, and Ras Sam Brown. The visit includes tour of grounds to view beautiful Itraits of HIM Jah Rastafari. There is no charge for the visit but if asked he says donations are welcome. At which time maybe the equivalent of 1-2 USD is given for a group of 3 to as many as 6.

IV. The council has reasoned on the position of a Nyahbinghi GateMan to secure InI Tabernacle. The Idren will be well firm in the Order, and ready to implement order on the grounds. Gateman is to serve Haile Selassie I and the growth and development of the Nyahbinghi Order in Ethiopia.

V. Congo Rock I is asking ones to keep in touch, write, call. Do not forget about Ethiopia, do not forget about InI. InI are praying for all the I to come home ahun! (ahun= now in Amharic)
